Today we would like to share another idea of what to do when visiting the Aukštaitija region. We recommend visiting the Hammer Museum in Linkmenai Village. This museum holds the world’s third-largest exhibition of hammers with more than 500 exhibits.

Did you know that you can see from the smallest to the largest hammer in the museum? They come from all over the world: Morocco, Kenya, Portugal, Alaska and others. Each tool has its own story. For example, there is a special hammer to crush the crab shell.

A large part of the collection consists of blacksmiths’, shoemakers, and woodcutters tools of our region. Here you can also see a Stone Age chopper, medical, culinary and radio tools.
