Today we would like to tell you about the most famous observation deck in Aukštaitija National Park, called Ladakalnis.

It is a hill which is 176 m above sea level, located in the chain of hills of the Šiliniškės ridge. From the hill, you can see impressive views of the nature of Aukštaitija and six lakes.

Did you know?

From ancient times there is a tradition to bring rocks to the top of the mountain and leave it next to the oak tree growing there. It is believed that sacrifices were made on this mountain to the Baltic tribe goddess of life Lada. Ladakalnis is declared as a natural geomorphological monument.
