Today we would like to share a few interesting facts about the Old Varena. 
It is a village located in Dzukija region, Varena district, at the confluence of Merkis and Varena. It is believed that in the past there was a hunting mansion, which belonged to the Grand Duke Vytautas.

The famous Lithuanian artist and composer M. K. Ciurlionis was born and baptized in the Old Varena. A monument “Angel” has been built in the village, which was created based on the motives of work and art of M. K. Ciurlionis. Also, from Old Varena, there is a road called “Ciurlionis Road” which is an alley of oak pillars. The road goes all the way to the city of Druskininkai.
