The Peters Bridge, built across the Atmata River in 1914, had become the main road for anyone travelling to the island. At the end of World War II, the bridge was blown up, but 30 years later, in 1974, a new bridge was built next to the old one. Today, it is the main road to access the island for Rusne Island people and tourists.
