We would like to dedicate today’s post to a wonderful natural phenomenon in Dzukija – sand dunes.

The length of the sand dunes in Dzukija is over ten kilometres. In the middle of Varena forests, you can find the Gaidzio dune, which is also called the Kloniu dune. This dune is exactly the same as the ones you can find on a seaside. While being there, it almost seems that the only thing you lack is the sound of sea waves…

Did you know? It is said that the Gaidzio dune is the only moving continental sand dune left in Lithuania.
