Zarasai region is famous for its spring waters. It is said that some of them have magical properties. One of them is the Switzerland source, also known as “Šveicarka”. The spring opens on the left bank of the river Šventoji, about 40 m away.

People believe that bathing in spring water cures back pain (joint pain) and eye diseases. For healing, they threw money at the source or tied it on tree threads or ropes. It is said that whoever touches those threads will receive that disease.
